This conference was an initiative of the Brussels Committee for the 60th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was launched on 10 December 2007 by a group of concerned organizations from diverse backgrounds, all committed to improve human rights: European Foundation for Human Rights and Tolerance; Protestant Liberal Church of Bruxelles; Media Watch; European Human Rights Office, Church of Scientology International; Youth for Human Rights International; Global Human Rights Defence.
